🧩 Understanding the Pieces
Top Scale
The top scale does NOT have top connection holes.
Bottom Scale
The bottom scale does NOT have bottom connection pegs.
Center Scales
Center scales contain BOTH:
connection holes
connection pegs
These center scales are what allow the spine to extend and flex naturally.

📏 Before You Begin
💡 Helpful Tip:
We strongly recommend connecting one scale at a time and periodically checking the length to achieve your desired fit.
The scales are designed with a very secure snap-fit connection. While they can be disconnected, doing so can be difficult once fully assembled.

🐉 Connecting the Scales
Hold one scale in each hand.
Make sure:
both scales are facing the same direction
the flat backs are aligned
the sew holes are on the same sides
Align the connection pegs of one scale with the connection holes of the next scale.
Insert one peg into its matching hole first.
Apply gentle but firm pressure to guide the second peg into place.
⚠️ The fit is intentionally snug for durability and movement, so it may require a bit more pressure than expected — but it will fit!

🔄 Continue Building
Repeat the process until your dragon spine reaches your desired length.
Additional center scales can be added anytime for a longer, more dramatic look.
